Explore the sample itineraries below for the perfect day or night in downtown Cleveland.

  • First:

Start your evening in the heart of downtown Cleveland with dinner and drinks on lively East 4th Street. There’s no shortage of cuisine on this iconic street. Grab a patio table at Cordelia for a farm-to-table experience, Mabel's BBQ for Cleveland-style barbecue and bourbon, Goma for upscale Japanese favorites, or kick things off with tacos and margaritas at Barrio Tacos just steps from the action.

    Second:

When it’s time for the first pitch at Progressive Field, the walk is quick and easy. Head south on East 4th Street toward Prospect Avenue, then continue east for a few blocks to the ballpark gates… about a 5-minute walk through Downtown’s vibrant Gateway District.

    Round Third:

After cheering on the Guardians, try your luck at the tables or slots at JACK Cleveland Casino or catch a late-night show at Pickwick & Hilarities. Looking for a drink or a bite? Grab drinks and a bite from Society Lounge, or for something quicker, a slice from Good Pizza.

  • First Act:

Start with dinner at The Friars' Table, Sushi En, Cibreo Italian Kitchen, or Republic, where delicious dishes set the stage for the evening. For a classic pre-show experience, Encore Cleveland offers upscale appetizers and craft cocktails just steps from the theaters.

    Second Act:

Before curtain call, stop in for a drink at Parnell's Pub, a longtime Playhouse Square favorite known for its cozy Irish pub atmosphere, or enjoy cocktails at The Bulkley Bar inside the historic Bulkley Building. Bulkley Bar offers convenient access to indoor entrances to Key Bank State Theater, Mimi Ohio Theater, Allen Theater, and Connor Palace Theater that make getting to the shows especially easy during colder months.

    Third Act:

Then settle in for an unforgettable performance at the beautifully restored KeyBank State Theatre, one of the crown jewels of Playhouse Square and a centerpiece of Cleveland’s performing arts scene.

    Take a Bow:

After the show, keep the evening sweet with a stop at Ben & Jerry's for a scoop of your favorite ice cream or grab a pint at Parnell’s before heading home from a perfect downtown Cleveland night.

  • Opening Act:

Start things off next door at Butcher and the Brewer, where house-made craft beers and a lively East 4th Street atmosphere make it an ideal pre-show stop.

    Supporting Act:

For dinner, head into House of Blues Restaurant & Bar before the concert or pop upstairs to the Foundation Room for an elevated speakeasy experience.

    Headliner:

Your dinner receipt doubles as a priority entry pass, allowing you to enter the venue ahead of the general crowd and skip the long lines outside. It’s time to rock out!

230 Years Old. 10 Years New

Aging Gracefully - Celebrating 230 Years

For over 200 years, Public Square has served as a central hub of downtown Cleveland. Ten years ago, we made a bold bet on Public Square, transforming it from a transit crossroads into a defining public destination. The space has continued to serve as a central gathering place for culture, recreation, commerce and civic life.

See the Square come to life with an expanded summer events lineup in honor of the 10-year anniversary of the renovated Public Square!
