Walk, dance, dress up, and vote!
As part of One Cleveland, Cleveland Public Library will host “Land the Vote,” a series of Tuesday walks from the Eastman Reading Garden to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections (about a 15 minutes walk), to encourage early, in-person voting. The goal is simple: to create a festive, welcoming community experience around civic participation and give people an opportunity to walk together to make their voices heard.
Each week will have a different theme:
October 6, 2026
First Walk: Celebrating first time voters, in collaboration with CMSD and the City of Cleveland.
October 13, 2026
Dance to the Polls: One Cleveland partners and community organizations are invited to lead us to the polls with dancing: strolling, strutting, leaping, pas-de-bourree-ing.
October 20, 2026
Charge! to the Polls: Celebrating our Cleveland sports teams as we walk to the polls.
October 27, 2026
Don't Ghost the Vote: come dressed in your most work-appropriate Halloween costume and walk to the polls.
Participants will gather between 11:30-12:00PM, with coffee and light snacks available, and we expect to depart for the Board of Elections around 12:10–12:15 p.m.
This is a completely nonpartisan civic engagement effort focused on participation, community, and making the voting experience feel welcoming and celebratory.
