Businesses that locate in Downtown Cleveland give themselves a leg up over their peers in recruiting top talent.
In a report published in conjunction with Cushman & Wakefield Real Estate and the George Washington University School of Business, Smart Growth America surveyed 500 business executives and concluded that talent recruitment and retention is a key consideration of businesses deciding to locate in a downtown. The Cleveland area ranks 8th in the United States, tied with Miami and Seattle, in the growth of college educated 25-34 year-olds. Downtown experienced a 136 percent increase in the number of residents who hold a four year or advanced degree between 2000 and 2014. Moreover, Downtown’s close proximity to multiple higher education facilities helps connect downtown businesses with top talent.
