Newly elected officers and members bring valuable experience and insights to the economic development organization and non-profit Board

Downtown Cleveland Alliance (DCA) is pleased to announce its first Chairwoman of the Board, Karen Paganini; the appointment of Vice Chair Teresa Metcalf Beasley and the additions of members Cheryl Wearsch and Matthew Nipper to its Board of Directors.

Paganini is the President & COO of the K&D Group and has been a member of the DCA Board of Directors since 2015. K&D has spearheaded historic Downtown Cleveland renovation projects such as The Residences at Leader and The Terminal Tower Residences.

Metcalf Beasley is an attorney with McDonald Hopkins and Chair of the firm’s Public Law Practice Group. She first joined the DCA Board of Directors in 2017.

The DCA Board also welcomes Wearsch and Nipper who were recommended by the nominating committee. Each were unanimously elected to serve three-year terms on the DCA Board of Directors during the group’s annual meeting.

Wearsch is a long-term executive at the Millennia Companies, Asset Manager for Key Center, and a Downtown Cleveland resident and Nipper is the Senior Vice President and Commercial Market Leader for KeyBank in Downtown Cleveland. Both are active in the Downtown Cleveland community and were selected to bring new and fresh perspectives to the DCA board.

Additionally, the Alliance elected two new Ex-Officio members to the Board of Directors, Yvette Ittu, Executive Vice President of Finance and Operations of the Greater Cleveland Partnership, and Alex Johnson, President of Cuyahoga Community College. The membership of Ittu and Johnson will help further strengthen partnerships with these important Downtown institutions and their stakeholders.

“Downtown Cleveland Alliance’s Board of Directors features some of our city’s brightest leaders, all committed to making Downtown Cleveland the best place to live, work, play and visit,” says Joe Marinucci, Downtown Cleveland Alliance President & CEO. “The additions to our Board and the election of Karen Paganini as our first female Board Chair signify exciting progress for the Alliance in 2021 and beyond.”
