Downtown Cleveland is your prime destination for kicking off the holiday season! On the Saturday following Thanksgiving, bring your family Downtown as Huntington presents Winterfest, an all day holiday celebration! Take in the magic as you experience Downtown’s vibrancy through horse and carriage rides, the first ever tree-lighting ceremony at PlayhouseSquare, a fireworks show and more!

This holiday season, the Cleveland Visitors Center will be under construction as we prepare to welcome visitors to Cleveland with a redesigned look in the spring of 2015. Not to worry, though, because our CLE Concierge Team is still available to help guide you through Downtown’s Winterfest wonderland. Head to our temporary location inside 5th Street Arcades from 10am-7pm and receive customized itineraries, sightseeing tour information and tips to help your family and out-of-town guests plan additional trips to Cleveland during the holiday season. Afterwards, make your way to E. 13th St. and Euclid Ave. to see our larger-than-life #ThisisCLE sign. Snap photos along the way and throughout the season and tag them #ThisisCLE to share how you celebrate your holidays in Cleveland.

Festival of Trees

The Festival of Trees is back to spread lots of holiday cheer. View the beautiful display of Christmas trees lining the lobby of the Allen Theatre. Open at 5:30pm on weekdays and 11:00am on weekends.


Horseshoe Casino

Horseshoe Casino brings the grandeur of Cleveland’s beloved Higbee’s department store back with its Holidays at the Higbee display, which can be viewed throughout the holiday season. Horseshoe’s sparkling holiday décor promises to evoke that nostalgic feeling of holidays past. Returning this year is world-renowned designer Lou Nasti, who has recreated scenes from the Nutcracker ballet to adorn the windows of the historic Higbee Building along Public Square and Ontario Street. Recapture the childhood magic as the Mouse King, toy soldiers and more dance in the windows to bring this story to life.
