Downtown Cleveland is your prime destination for kicking off the holiday season! On the Saturday following Thanksgiving, bring your family Downtown as Huntington presents Winterfest, an all day holiday celebration! Take in the magic as you experience Downtown’s vibrancy through horse and carriage rides, the first ever tree-lighting ceremony at PlayhouseSquare, a fireworks show and more!

Winterfest Activities in PlayhouseSquare

1-6 p.m.:
Get a jump-start on your holiday shopping and stop by the Holiday Pop Up Shop at PlayhouseSquare. Buy your friends and family creative gifts from some of Cleveland's best local Makers.
1-5 p.m.:
Popfusion will be providing family-friendly holiday entertainment in Winterfest Village.
2-4:30 p.m.:
Have fun and visit your favorite mascots and scream teams from the Cleveland Indians, Lake Erie Monsters and Cleveland Gladiators.
1-6:30 p.m.:
Enjoy a CLE specialty...gourmet food trucks located on E. 12th and Huron!
4:45-5:00 p.m.:
Christmas Choral music with Old Stone Church Choir on the main stage
5-6:30 p.m.:
Lighting ceremony, concert and fireworks.

Festival of Trees at Allen Theatre
The Festival of Trees is back to spread lots of holiday cheer. View the beautiful display of Christmas trees lining the lobby of the Allen Theatre. Open at 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and 11:00 a.m. on weekends.

Make your way to E. 13th St. and Euclid Ave. (in front of Cowell & Hubbard) to see their larger-than-life #thisisCLE sign. Snap photos along the way and throughout the season and tag #thisisCLE to share how you celebrate your holidays in Cleveland.

In addition to all of the Winterfest activities taking place on Public Square, families can also enjoy holiday activities from these partner events:
• Tower City: Events begin at 10 a.m. and include Kringle's Inventionasium, Holiday Express Train, Bruce the Talking Spruce, the Holiday Showcase at the Grand Staircase and much more.
• Old Stone Church: Christmas concerts taking place at 4 pm, 5 pm and after the fireworks.
• Renaissance Cleveland: A Christmas Story Convention
• Hard Rock Café: Chilling with the Kringle at 11 a.m. and Guitar Hero Challenge from 1-5 p.m.
• The Historic Arcade: Historic tours with characters from Cleveland's past at 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.
• Cleveland Public Library: Free holiday concert with cookies and hot cocoa at 2 p.m.
• Soldiers' and Sailors' Monument: Monument will be open from 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
And new this year is Indians Snow Days at Progressive Field. The Cleveland Indians will transform the ballpark into a winter haven filled with snow tubing, ice skating, food/beverages and much more. Snow Days is open 10 a.m.-10 pm. and runs from Nov. 26 through Jan. 2.

Free Horse-Drawn Carriage Rides
1-4:30 p.m.:
Start at the Cleveland Public Library to explore Downtown and all of its beautiful sights while you and your family go for a free horse-drawn carriage ride.

This holiday season, the Cleveland Visitors Center will be under construction as they prepare to welcome visitors to Cleveland with a redesigned look in the spring of 2015. Not to worry, though, because their CLE Concierge Team is still available to help guide you through Downtown's Winterfest wonderland. Head to their temporary location inside 5th Street Arcades from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and receive customized itineraries, sightseeing tour information and tips to help your family and out-of-town guests plan additional trips to Cleveland during the holiday season. Afterwards, make your way to E. 13th St. and Euclid Ave. to see their larger-than-life #ThisisCLE sign. Stop by East Fourth Street to enjoy ice sculpting, live music, holiday bowling, delicious foods and warm holiday drinks for all ages.

Festival of Trees at Allen Theatre
The Festival of Trees is back to spread lots of holiday cheer. View the beautiful display of Christmas trees lining the lobby of the Allen Theatre. Open at 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and 11:00 a.m. on weekends.

Horseshoe Casino
Horseshoe Casino brings the grandeur of Cleveland's beloved Higbee's department store back with its Holidays at the Higbee display, which can be viewed throughout the holiday season. Horseshoe's sparkling holiday decor promises to evoke that nostalgic feeling of holiday past. Returning this year is world-renowned designer Lou Nasti, who has recreated scenes from the Nutcracker ballet to adorn the windows of the historic Higbee Building along Public Square and Ontario Street. Recapture the childhood magic as the Mouse King, toy soldiers and more dance in the windows to bring this story to life.

The Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland
Visit the Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland, during Winterfest and enjoy the hotel's annual Gingerbread House Display. A tradition at the Ritz-Carlton, Cleveland, this year's gingerbread house is not to be missed. Visit the Lobby to see for yourself why this is a holiday favorite. Stay for seasonal drinks and traditional cocktails in Lobby Lounge on 6 or enjoy the Farmer's Market Menu dinner in MUSE restaurant.

Downtown in December Trolley Tours
Join us for a holiday tour of Downtown Cleveland on Lolly the Trolley beginning Saturday, November 29th and continuing every Saturday during the month of December. Board the trolley at Horseshoe Casino and discover the sites of Downtown development, including the soon-to-be Heinen's, PlayhouseSquare, The Westin Hotel, Convention Center and many more. Tours are approximately 30 minutes long and are available from 11:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
